Controls Engineer
Job Description:
- The position is responsible for design and approval of electrical schematics and mechanical layouts for controls as per corporation specifications
- The position will provide advice to production personnel and skilled trades on layout and wiring techniques, writing scope of work for installation, verify control specifications and working with other engineers on projects. Also assist skilled trades during installation
- Assist maintenance in troubleshooting of production equipment and suggest/implement permanent resolutions
- Write, design and implement electrical projects to improve cost, productivity and/or quality
- Deal with outside contractors, vendors and OEMs for new equipment purchases and approvals. In addition, utilize outside resources to achieve planned goals

Requirements:
- Must have knowledge of current technology in electrical controls. Particularly the following:
- VLCs (Steeplechase, PC based control systems)
- PLCs (Allen Bradley, PLC, SLC, Control Logix)
- CNCs (AB 9-series, Fanuc, Seimens)
- HMI (Iconics, Interbus, Intellution Fix)
- Robotics, Motion Control Applications, Machinery and Manufacturing Processes
- High level of oral and written communication skills, analytical abilities, computer literacy and interpersonal skills required
- Background in programmable controllers
- Knowledge of SPC/SQC/FMEA/DFA/QFA preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required with a minimum of 3-5 years experience
- Previous field service experience is preferred
- Experience in launching of new equipment and/or service of existing equipment is also preferred
