Darlington Nuclear Refurbishment Program
The Darlington Nuclear Generating Station is one of the top performing nuclear stations in the world. The power plant has been producing about 20 per cent of Ontario's electricity since the early 1990s. Now, after decades of reliable power generation, this clean energy source is undergoing a mid-life refurbishment that will benefit Ontarians for another 30 years. In 2016 Ontario Power Generation (OPG), which owns the Darlington site, received approval to commence a $12.8 billion refurbishment project servicing all four CANDU reactors at the Darlington nuclear generating station. The project will take until 2026 to complete.
Comtech is supporting OPG in the provision of Project Control services for the Darlington Refurbishment Program. The services being provided by Comtech are supporting OPG's refurbishment of its four (4) reactor units at the Darlington Nuclear Facility.
The Comtech team is supporting the effective planning, monitoring, controlling and close-out of a portfolio of projects essential to the successful Refurbishment of the Darlington nuclear power plant.
Our Project Controls consultant team is also involved in overseeing contract administration including estimating, procurement, negotiation, and related work ensuring projects are set up for success.
We are interfacing with OPG's suppliers/contracts to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
We are leveraging best practices, lessons learned and strategic tools from our portfolio of multi-industry projects to manage and control project scope, cost, schedule, risk, and ultimately to support OPG’s success.
