Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Streetcar Maintenance and Storage Facility Project
Overview:
The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is replacing its current fleet of streetcars with new light rail vehicles. As the new vehicles could not be maintained in existing TTC facilities, a new maintenance and storage facility was required to support, maintain and adequately service new light rail vehicles. The Ashbridges Bay Streetcar Maintenance and Storage Facility are located at the 8.6-hectare Ashbridges Bay site at the southeast corner of Lakeshore Boulevard East and Leslie Street. The facility provides the ability for the TTC to adequately complete daily servicing/cleaning, preventative and corrective maintenance for the new fleet of vehicles. It houses 100 of the new Flexity Streetcars and provides fleet repair services for up to 20 light rail vehicles at a time.
